Annwyl pawb
We are carrying out a lockdown practice next Tuesday morning at school. Practising this routine regularly is an important part of our safeguarding procedures at school, in the same way that we carry out regular fire drills. We will brief students beforehand and afterwards, in order to remind them of what to do, and hopefully to calm any anxieties about the practice. We will take particular care to talk through the procedure for our Year 7 students, who have not practised this before. Students took the practice very seriously last time, and I am sure it will be the case again.
In other news, our Christmas tree is now up and awaiting decoration, which this year will be carried out by our Eco Council team who have plans for decorating it with recycled items. I look forward to seeing the festive results of their endeavours.
Finally, I know we again have an amber weather warning across Wales this weekend, with red warnings around the coast. We will be keeping a close eye on river levels over the weekend. We will as always take the relevant advice from authorities, and hope for the best for the weekend ahead. We will communicate any decisions regarding the school via the usual channels as we did recently - although we fervently hope that it is not required and that we can open as normal.
Best wishes to you all,
Hugo Hutchison
