Friends of MCS
As a parent, carer, or member of staff at Monmouth Comprehensive School, you are automatically a member of Monmouth Comprehensive School Friends Association.
The Friends are run by a small group of parents, grandparents and staff with a large number of helpers who jump in and help when they can. We support our school community through social events and fundraising. All the money raised goes towards providing extras that the school budget does not cover. In the last few years, we have raised funds for outdoor canopies, equipment for the PEA and PE Faculties, and three new fixed outdoor table tennis tables for use during break times.
However, we are not just about fundraising. We also run a second-hand uniform service, providing good quality second-hand uniform at greatly reduced prices for parents, which raises funds for the school. In order to make the uniform accessible to parents, we partner with a charity shop, The Magic Cottage, in Monmouth and we share the profits with the charity.
We are very grateful for any uniform donations - please drop them at the Reception in school or into The Magic Cottage Charity shop itself (next to Shire Hall), so that the school can benefit from uniform sales.
It is also possible to support us, and the school, by using easyfundraising. Did you know that over 8,000 retailers will now donate to MCS Friends for FREE, every time you use easyfundraising to shop with them?
When you sign up to support us, then click into your shop (Amazon, eBay, Tesco etc), easyfundraising receives a small donation from your purchase in that shop. It costs you nothing extra and only takes a couple of minutes.

"Being able to support our school is genuinely rewarding and it has been a pleasure getting to know other parents, staff and students along the way."
"It is rewarding to raise funds for the school and see the difference they make to school life, but the best thing about getting involved with MCS Friends Association is the great new people I have met and the invaluable insight I have got into the school and how it operates from parents with children older than mine."
