Welcome to Monmouth Comprehensive School

Dear Parents and Students

Welcome to Monmouth Comprehensive School

In our school we encourage everyone to have the highest expectations of themselves and each other as together we Learn to Lead our Lives.

We are proud of our students’ academic achievements.  Just as importantly, we are a school that cares.  We believe that students need to feel comfortable and secure in order to learn and, as a school, we put as much emphasis on creating a supportive and happy environment as we do on academic success.  We achieve both.

I look forward to working with you to ensure the very best learning and life for the young people in our care.

Vaughan Davies

SCIENCE, SOCIAL SCIENCE & DESIGN TECHNOLOGY

Faculty of Science

Faculty Leader: Mr G Sinkowski

Subject Leader Science: Mr S Pearson

Subject Leader Social Science: Miss N Taylor

Subject Leader Design & Technology: Mr P Bland

This newly formed Faculty encompasses Science, Social Sciences and Technology.  The Faculty will build on the expertise within individual subject areas to ensure that Monmouth Comprehensive School develops as a beacon for STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) on a national level.

STEM subjects are integral to the UK's success, yet have been taught independent of each other for generations.  Our vision is that students' learning at Monmouth Comprehensive School will benefit hugely from a collaboration of subject areas and that this will prepare many of them for rich and varied career pathways within STEM subjects.  Our students will have the STEM knowledge and skills they need to be an informed citizen in an increasingly scientific and technological society.
